The town of Hamelin has rats. They can’t get rid of the rats. The Pied Piper comes to town and promises to get rid of the rats for a fee. The town agrees. He plays his flute and the rats follow him out of town. The Pied Piper returns for his fee. They refuse to pay and he plays on his flute again – only this time all the children come out of the houses and follow him out of town. The children and the piper are never seen again.
